Fiore Longo graduated in Anthropology. She is currently Director of Survival International France and Spain. Survival International is one of the oldest NGOs supporting the promotion and protection of the rights of Indigenous and tribal peoples. Since 2018, Fiore has been leading Survival International’s successful campaign to decolonize conservation which resulted in funding cuts to major conservation projects that were violating the rights of Indigenous Peoples in Africa.  Fiore has carried out fieldwork in many Indigenous communities victims of human rights abuses in the name of conservation. She is the author and editor of numerous publications on Indigenous rights, climate change, conservation and protected areas including a groundbreaking book edited in 2023: Decolonize conservation: Global Voices for Indigenous Self- Determination, Land, and a World in common.
