Whose Right to Remedy? IPLP Research Brings Grievance and Redress Mechanisms to the CBD Agenda in Nairobi

At a side event held during the twenty-eighth meeting of the Convention on Biological Diversity’s Subsidiary Body on Scientific, Technical and Technological Advice (SBSTTA-28) in Nairobi, findings from an IUCN-led scoping study carried out in collaboration with the University of Arizona’s Indigenous Peoples Law and Policy Program (IPLP) highlighted a critical issue for the implementation of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework: ensuring effective access to grievance, redress and remedy for Indigenous Peoples affected by conservation initiatives.
